Now you need to open the base of the composite image. To do this we have gone to File, and selected New to open a new image. In the box that then opens we have set the size at A4 using the preset, although you could enter what ever sizes you want manually if you wish. We have used a resolution of 300 Pixels/inch, and a background colour of white.
When you are happy with your choices click OK, and your blank canvas is created for you. 
We can now go to Edit and select Paste to paste in the the image that you selected earlier. 
To end up with this. As you can see the image that you just pasted appears as a seperate layer in the Layers Window, and due to the minimal feathering value the edges are very hard.
