Tutorial: Sharpening with Layers

Some slightly more advanced sharpening techniques using Layers.

High Pass Filter Sharpening

This is the image that we are going to sharpen using the High Pass Filter.

Simply select the area that you to sharpen. This could be the whole image, but in this case we chose to sharpen only the eagle and leave the blurred background untouched. We have used the Lasso Tool to select the bird, then right mouse clicked the image to bring up the menu and chosen Layer via Copy
