Tutorial: Sharpening

Smart Sharpening. Smart Sharpening is found on photoshop CS2 and above, and is very similar to Unsharp Mask. The main difference is that with Smart Sharpening you have the option of fading the effect in the highlight and shadow areas of the image, helping to tailor the sharpening effect for the image. Many people regard Smart Sharpen to give better results then Unsharp Mask, however the differences in quality are usually only seen at large image sizes ready for printing.

Go to Filter, select Sharpen then choose Smart Sharpen. This will open the Smart Sharpen Window
